摘要: The budding yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae , is the best-studied eukaryotic cell, at both genetic and physiological levels. As a eukaryote, yeast shares highly conserved molecular cellular mechanisms with human cells. Thus, this simple fungus an invaluable model to study fundamental involved in several diseases. In particular case of neurodegenerative disorders, models have been able recapitulate important features complex devastating such as Huntington's Parkinson's Once validated, these also used accelerate identification novel therapeutic targets compounds potential. Here, we review recent contributions simple, but powerful organism toward our understanding neurodegeneration.
