摘要: In 1947, Gorelik [1] and practically at the same time Forrester, Parkins, Gerjuoy [2] expressed idea of observing low-frequency interference oscillations (beatings) between two incoherent light sources slightly different optical frequencies. At that time, any such experiment seemed to be unreal because spectral intensity traditional was too small. However, 8 years later Gudmundsen, Johnson [3] reported on observation beatings σ components Zeeman splitting 202Hg green line wavelength 0.5461 ?m. To explain difficulties complexity experiment, it would enough say signal-to-noise ratio only 10−4 frequency 10 GHz. For detecting signal, special cumbersome ultrahigh vacuum photodiode designed manufactured. The whole experimental arrangement so complicated every practical implementation this method unreal. Nonetheless, even clear that, using much narrower high flux, possible significantly simplify experiment.
