摘要: Distinction of oligodendrogliomas from other gliomas is clinically important, but the histologic diagnosis oligodendroglioma has been a difficult and notoriously subjective task. Testing for loss heterozygosity (LOH) on chromosomal arms 1p 19q, genetic signature oligodendroglioma, emerged as useful, objective adjunct to traditional evaluation. However, LOH testing glioma specimens not yet widely implemented, presumably because lack practical assay. We describe 19q assay suitable routine diagnostics. In contrast microsatellite-based analysis, we show that detection usually possible even without normal tissue or blood same patient.
