Integration of CO2 Capture and Mineral Carbonation by Using Recyclable Ammonium Salts

摘要: A new approach to capture and store CO2 by mineral carbonation using recyclable ammonium salts was studied. This process integrates with employing NH3, NH4HSO4, NH4HCO3 in the capture, dissolution, steps, respectively. NH4HSO4 NH3 can then be regenerated thermal decomposition of (NH4)2SO4. The use as source avoid desorption compression CO2. mass ratio Mg/NH4HCO3/NH3 is key factor controlling optimum 1:4:2 gives a conversion Mg ions hydromagnesite 95.5 %. Thermogravimetric analysis studies indicated that regeneration efficiency this 95 balance shows about 2.63 tonnes serpentine, 0.12 7.48 NH4HCO3, 0.04 are required sequester 1 tonne hydromagnesite.
