摘要: This chapter briefly contrasts the ongoing debate concerning nature and kinds of meaning-making within cognitive science related disciplines. Based on shortcomings traditional approaches activity it integrates theoretical framework Distributed Cognition (DC) with more recent, embodied social interaction cognition. The focus is mostly “radically” embodiment theories, but also clarifies different notions its role in cognition interaction. Integrating a broad range perspectives empirical evidence from mainly neuroscience, phenomenology, linguistics gesture studies, four fundamental functions body are identified. (1) as resonance mechanism, (2) means end communication interaction, (3) action helping hand shaping, expressing sharing thoughts, (4) representational device. discussions illustrated an example case study “in wild”, importance cross-modal process activity.
