摘要: Abstract The relationship between limited transcription and the ability of vaccinia virus to cause inhibition protein synthesis (shutoff) was studied in HeLa cells infected with ultraviolet (uv)-irradiated virus. Protein is shutoff, at 4 hr after infection, uv irradiated up 9600 ergs/mm 2 , however, shutoff does not occur 28,800 . extent uv-irradiated related cytoplasmic virus-induced RNA. Polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic analysis (PAGE) polypeptides shows that no viral proteins are detected even when lowest dose (1920 ). In order determine if this loss by or damage structural components, several morphological biochemical properties were examined. Even highest irradiation used (28,800 ): (1) Virus morphology visibly altered. (2) Enzyme activities associated particle, such as terminal riboadenylate transferase deoxyribonuclease (neutral acidic) affected. (3) state DNA determined velocity sedimentation alkaline neutral sucrose gradients a low degree single-stranded nicks crosslinked genome found. (4) Adsorption unaltered. Studies on penetration uncoating show conversion subviral particle 1 (first stage uncoating) but 17,280 These data suggest RNA synthesis.
