摘要: Adverse impacts of greenhouse gases (GHG) and the imperative for reducing production are well established. The transportation sector accounts 28% all U.S. GHG production. Heavy-duty vehicles (e.g., large freight trucks) account nearly 1/5 total this fraction is growing. Most current efforts emphasize one four areas: (1) engineering improvements to improve fuel economy or reduce emissions, (2) shifts other transport modes, (3) improved logistics movement partially full empty containers, (4) reduced travel costs individual trucks. A small studies have assessed modifications route choice considerations as a means improving vehicles. These suggest potential gains very small. In study, emissions-based were by integrating EPA Motor Vehicle Emissions Simulator (MOVES) with macroscopic regional traffic demand model. For integration, choices included simplified emission calculation within repeated model iteration runs Frank-Wolfe type algorithm. Analyses reductions truck emissions possible show an example where systems was up 0.61% (88.8 tons).
