摘要: Abstract The effects of electrical and chemical stimulation the arcuate nculeus hypothalamus (ARH) on tail flick latency (TFL) paw pressure withdrawal threshold (PWT) were investigated in lightly pentobarbital-anesthetized acutely prepared rat. Electrical ARH for 20 sec at 8 Hz produced a more potent elevation TFL (98%) PWT (68%) compared to when was applied same site 2 (41% 25%, respectively), 32 (64% 42%) 128 (57% 39%). An even marked longer attenuation nociceptive reflexes observed extended period 1 or 3 min. Microinjection excitant amino acid, l -glutamate (0.5 M, 0.1 μl), into areas consistently elicited antinociception an extent similar that with stimulation. data indicate seems be optimal frequency stimulating produce analgesic effect as tested by two spinal reflexes.
