Current questionnaire-based literature suggests that citrus fruits, tomatoes, vitamin C, artificial sweeteners, coffee, tea, carbonated alcoholic beverages, spicy foods tend exacerbate symptoms, while calcium glycerophosphate sodium bicarbonate improve symptoms. At present we recommend employing controlled method determine sensitivities, such as an elimination diet, in order identify at same time maintain optimal nutritional intake. We review current regard diet's effect upon IC/BPS common comorbidities (irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue neuropathic pain, vulvodynia, headache) focus investigations.
