Distinguishing 'Higgs' spin hypotheses using γγ and WW* decays

摘要: The new particle X recently discovered by the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations in searches for Higgs boson has been observed to decay into , ZZ WW but its spin parity, J P remain a mystery, with = 0 + 2 being open possibilities. We use PYTHIA Delphes simulate an analysis of angular distribution gg! X! decays full 2012 data set, including realistic background levels. show that this should provide strong discrimination between possibilities zero two graviton-like couplings: 3 if conservative symmetric interpretation log-likelihood ratio (LLR) test statistic is used, 6 less asymmetric used. couplings Standard Model are both expected exhibit custodial symmetry. present search strategies using Delphes, their eciencies
