摘要: Objectives. This study investigated whether stenting improves long-term results after recanalization of chronic coronary occlusions. Background. Restenosis is common percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTCA) occlusions. Stenting has been suggested as a means improving results, but its use not previously in randomized trial. Methods. We randomly assigned 119 patients with satisfactory result successful by PTCA occlusion to 1) control group no other intervention, or 2) which was followed implantation Palmaz-Schatz stents full anticoagulation. Coronary angiography performed before randomization, and at 6-month follow-up. Results. Inguinal bleeding more frequent the stent group. There were deaths. One patient had myocardial infarction. Subacute within 2 weeks occurred four three At follow-up, 57% free from angina compared 24% only (p < 0.001). Angiographic follow-up data available 114 patients. (≥50% diameter stenosis) developed 32% 74% 0.001); reocclusion 12% 26%, respectively = 0.058). Minimal lumen (mean ± SD) 1.92 0.95 mm 1.11 0.78 mm, Target lesion revascularization 300 days less than (22% vs. 42%, p 0.025). Conclusions. Stent improved angiographic clinical occlusions thus recommended regardless primary result.
