摘要: An important goal of primatology is to identify the ecological factors that affect primate abundance, diversity, demography, and social behavior. Understanding nutritional needs primates central understanding ecology because adequate nutrition a prerequisite for successful reproduction. Here, we review methods provide practical guidelines measure nutrient intake by in field settings. We begin with an assessment how estimate food using behavioral observations. then describe collect, prepare, preserve samples. Finally, suggest appropriate assays estimating diet quality point merits limitations each. hope this will inspire primatologists use answer many unresolved questions primatology.
