摘要: Earlier studies have suggested an important role of carnitine pathway in cardiovascular pathology. However, the redistribution and acylcarnitine pools, as a result altered metabolism, is not clearly known patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI). We compared profiles 65 AMI patients, including 26 ST-elevated (STEMI) 39 non-ST-elevated (NSTEMI), 28 chest pain 154 normal controls. The levels acylcarnitines blood spots were determined using LC-MS/MS. Total free significantly higher all patient groups following order: STEMI > NSTEMI pain. short- medium-chain groups. Among long-chain acylcarnitines, C14:2 C16:1 increased NSTEMI. ratio to short-chain or was decreased STEMI, however significant increase observed In conclusion, alterations indicate possibility impaired homeostasis ischemic myocardium. clinical implications these findings for risk screening diagnosis prognosis require additional follow-up on large number patients. also suggest that dual-marker strategy (longer plasma half-life) combination troponin (shorter could be more promising biomarker stratification
