摘要: Blood smears stained with Wright-Giemsa were obtained from 124 patients pathologically confirmed cutaneous T cell lymphoma (CTCL), 70 various other disorders, and ten healthy adult volunteers. These examined in a blinded fashion for atypical lymphocytes cerebriform nuclei (CLs), which characterized further according to diameter. CLs, comprising up 15% of smears, observed 20% the benign dermatitis. 89% found 22%, 30%, 50%, 96% patch, plaque, tumor, erythrodermic CTCL, respectively. Large-diameter CLs (15 20 micron) only CTCL. Total CL counts above 15 per 100 and/or presence large occurred 33 49 (67%) disease two skin manifestations. at time cytogenetic studies indicated that total count was smear criterion correlated best demonstration chromosomally abnormal malignant clone blood. The se, although also predictive clone, less useful. Multivariate survival analysis showed duration before blood proportion within population covariates most significantly survival. We speculate reduced increased proportions reflects polyploid
