摘要: Strict and semi-strict supertree construction methods can be used to summarize groups that are consistent with all source phylogenies. Other procedures, such as Matrix Representation Parsimony (MRP), arbitrate conflicts among incompatible trees, provide more topological resolution than strict methods. MRP has been construct most of the large supertrees have published date. We review some inherent problems other methods, point out specific difficulties in previously Mrp-supertree analyses, question possible advantages supertrees, suggest supermatrix analyses character data should primary framework for comparative biology 21st century.
