摘要: M channels, an important regulator of neural excitability, are composed four subunits the Kv7 (KCNQ) K+ channel family. channels were named as such because their activity was suppressed by stimulation muscarinic acetylcholine receptors. These particular interest they activated at subthreshold membrane potentials. Furthermore, KCNQ drug targets for treatments epilepsy and a variety neurological disorders, including chronic neuropathic pain, deafness, mental illness. This review will update readers on roles in sensory system circuits well discuss respective mechanisms implications physiology medicine. We also consider future perspectives development additional pharmacological models, seizure, stroke, pain illness, which work combination with drug-design targeting channels. models hopefully deepen our understanding provide general therapeutic prospects related channelopathies.
