摘要: Ommaya reservoirs are commonly used in the diagnosis and management of leptomeningeal metastases (LM) from malignant tumors. The present study investigates utility an intraoperative navigation-guided technique for reservoir placement. Between March 2004 December 2005, 85 placements were performed 77 patients with intracranial malignancies at Komagome Metropolitan Hospital. Anterior horn puncture posterior 59 26 procedures, respectively. A slit ventricle was 6 cases. All procedures under assistance Medtronic STEALTH STATION TRIA navigation system. Computed tomographic (CT) scans routinely obtained just after completion procedure. Patients diagnosed LM received subsequent treatment. An catheter applied to ventricular needle registered system inserted into lateral ventricle. Using real-time "Guidance View", surgeon able verify position continuously during Postoperative CT scan revealed appropriate all except one case. Complications (catheter malposition) occurred only case (complication rate, 1.2%). None experienced hemorrhage or infection. In conclusion, placement associated a very low incidence complications. This method appears be safe effective when employed malignancy.
