摘要: The study was designed to verify the gastroprotective and antidiarrhoeal effects of ternatin, a tetramethoxyflavone isolated from Egletes viscosa Less. function ternatin evaluated in rats against gastric mucosal damage induced by hypothermic restraint stress, absolute ethanol, indomethacin, whereas activity investigated studying its influence on gastrointestinal transit as measured charcoal marker castor oil-induced accumulation intestinal fluid mice also contractile responses evoked acetylcholine, histamine, serotonin, barium chloride guinea-pig ileum. results demonstrate that pretreatment animals with plant flavonoid (25 50 mg/kg, i.p.) produces significant inhibition lesions ethanol but not those stress or indomethacin suggest probable involvement prostaglandins-independent mechanism gastroprotection. At similar doses, both well fluids oil were significantly inhibited ternatin. Furthermore, antagonised different agonists ileum vitro inhibitory potential for drugs are order acetylcholine > histamine serotonin chloride. Taken together, these point out possible effect since motility secretion can greatly control clinical diarrhoea.
