摘要: Objective This study aimed to compare the efficacy of losartan, an angiotensin II receptor antagonist, with propranolol on portal hypertension in patients decompensated chronic liver disease. Methods In all, 30 Child–Pugh B cirrhosis and large varices without any prior therapy for were randomized either losartan (n = 15) or (n = 15). Clinical, biochemical hemodynamic parameters including hepatic venous pressure gradient (HVPG), wedged (WHVP), mean arterial blood (MABP) free (FHVP) measured at baseline after 4-week therapy. Patients HVPG < 12 mmHg regarded as responders. Results An equal number responders seen both groups (6/15, 40.0%). The reduction WHVP HVPG was greater group than group, although no significant differences between them found. Heart rate decreased more arm (P < 0.01); however, correlation decrease heart observed. One patient a responder, had gastrointestinal bleeding 2 months drug administration, but small under endoscopy did not require definitive fall MABP statistical difference two groups. Conclusion The effect comparable reducing disease.
