Preparation and upconversion emission enhancement of SiO_2 coated YbPO_4: Er^3+ inverse opals with Ag nanoparticles

摘要: The rare earth ions doped up-converting inverse opals exhibited application potential in the fields of biosensors and optic–electronic devices. However, there are two major factors which have limited their applications. One is parity forbidden characters 4f-f transitions ions. Another factor low upconversion luminescence efficiency caused by surface defects. In present work, SiO2 shell was coated on skeleton YbPO4:Er3+ to protect luminescent ions, about a 10-fold enhancement obtained. Additionally, localized plasmon resonance from Ag nanoparticles used enhance opals. green red opal enhanced selectively. Finally, 50 30 folds coupling effect coating nanoparticles, respectively. selective mechanism investigated.
