FEL's with Bragg reflection resonators: Cyclotron autoresonance masers versus ubitrons

摘要: FEL's based on the stimulated undulator radiation (ubitrons) are compared with those cyclotron [cyclotron autoresonance masers (CARM's)]. If high-current accelerators used as electron injectors, then from viewpoint of simplicity oscillatory energy pumping, criticality respect to velocity dispersion, and efficiency, CARM's seem be more effective than ubitrons at mm sbmm waves. For such HF generators, resonators selective Bragg reflection electromagnetic waves in corrugated metallic tubes most atractive. this type yield 6 MW a 4 wavelength 10 2 single-mode regime.
