摘要: Collagen is the most widely distributed class of proteins in human body. The use collagen-based biomaterials field tissue engineering applications has been intensively growing over past decades. Multiple cross-linking methods were investigated and different combinations with other biopolymers explored order to improve function. possesses a major advantage being biodegradable, biocompatible, easily available highly versatile. However, since collagen protein, it remains difficult sterilize without alterations its structure. This review presents comprehensive overview various developed for engineering, aimed at providing functional material regenerative medicine from laboratory bench patient bedside.
