摘要: Ecotoxicological bioassays have been widely applied to evaluate the toxicity of substances in standardized test organisms. Nevertheless, main challenge for researchers is use native species express effects pollutants on aquatic biota. Thirty years ago, Smith and collaborators possible Pristina longiseta (as leidyi) acute test, developing some experiments using cadmium vanadium as toxicants. The present work aimed update P. longiseta, bioassays, presenting occurrence general characteristics species; adaptation cultivation tropical conditions; sensitivity tests potassium chloride (KCl) copper sulfate (CuSO4) reference by OECD, USEPA, ABNT; exposure zinc (ZnCl2). results showed a successful this organism, which presented easy laboratory rearing responded classical ecotoxicological index. study can increase utilization regions improve evaluation environmental impacts studies.
