摘要: Broadly neutralizing antibodies represent the major protective mechanism of vaccines targeting pathogenic microbes in humans and animals. For HIV, broadly have also been shown to be experimental animal models. However, despite identification a respectable number from chronically infected HIV-positive persons recent years, attempts induce such by generally failed over last decades. Though unsuccessful view achieving vaccine against many these studies contributed significantly understanding generation HIV-1 as well vulnerable sites they target on surface virus. Here we review most important features patient-derived antibodies, long complex B-cell maturation pathways required for their production, resulting consequences development. We further address characteristics epitopes targeted virus mechanisms viral escape. Taken together, candidates able is challenge HIV Mutual coevolution rationally designed candidates, with affinity upon vaccination, may best mimic natural situation HIV-infected patients who are generate antibodies.
