The mentoring information exchange: when do mentors seek information from their protégés?

摘要: The mentoring literature has focused largely on outcomes associated with having been mentored. This study considered informational being a mentor, viewing the protege as source of information for mentor and vice versa. Survey data were collected across 17 organizations from 161 mentors 140 proteges. Mentor characteristics perceptions relationship hypothesized to be related mentors' seeking their Hierarchical regression analyses indicated that perceived appropriateness seeking, competence, vocational functions influence contributed significantly prediction among sample; hierarchical distance, self-monitoring significant predictors in sample.
