摘要: Optimal utilization of public health nurses (PHNs) is important for strengthening capacity and sustaining interest in nursing the face a global shortage. To gain an insight into organizational attributes that support PHNs to work effectively, 23 focus groups were held with PHNs, managers, policymakers diverse regions urban rural/remote settings across Canada. Participants identified at all levels system: government system-level action, local culture their employers, supportive management practices. Effective leadership emerged as strong message throughout levels. Other included valuing promoting nursing; having shared vision, goals, planning; building partnerships collaboration; demonstrating flexibility creativity; supporting ongoing learning knowledge sharing. The results this study highlight opportunities fostering development health, influencing policies programs optimize services resources, realize full scope competencies.
