摘要: The role of abrin, a toxic lectin isolated from seeds Abrus precatorius Linn in inducing apoptosis murine Dalton's Lymphoma Ascites (DLA) cells was evaluated. Abrin when incubated at the concentration 10 ng per million DLA could bring about cell death as typical morphological changes with apoptosis. However, necrotic dominated higher dose abrin used. DNA samples, treated showed fragmentation. brought induction by stimulating expression pro-apoptotic Caspase-3, same time blocking Bcl-2, which is an anti apoptotic gene. tumor suppressor gene p53 has not been observed control and abrin-treated cells. Results suggested that effectively induced led to cellular death.
