摘要: We have analysed anti-HBc and anti-HCV antibodies in serum samples from 799 donors which had their blood or derivates transfused to 111 recipients. Anti-HBc were reactive respectively 9 2.1% of the tested. observed that among recipients, 44 received at least one positive unit 67 been only with negative anti-HBc, units. The risk developing hepatitis C virus was 4.5 times higher for recipients who unit. If test made serological screening, about 56% HCV cases could avoided. population reacting anti-HCV, presented a 29 this hepatitis, as compared all Testing would avoid 79% post-transfusional cases. Brazilian candidates seem be carriers either simultaneously sequentially B C, since 44.4% also anti-HBc. screening must indicated order prevent transmission our community.
