摘要: Much attention is currently being given to the relationship of land use and transportation. At heart this issue notion urban sprawl: wasteful undeveloped on fringes regions. This article reviews literature sprawl provides a historical background for understanding transportation systems in United States. The author concludes that policy entered new period after passage Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act 1991, which required state agencies metropolitan planning organizations work together formulating programs. examines impact approach by examining changes how decisions are related statewide regional issues Pennsylvania.
