摘要: The red flour beetle, Tribolium castaneum (Herbst), and the confused confusum Jacquelin du Val, are capable of exploiting any rip, tear, or defect in packaged food infest contents. Incorporating packaging materials with insecticides is a novel technological approach that gaining interest as preventative measure to deter infestations. objective this experiment was determine effect deltamethrin-incorporated on T. adult fecundity. Treatment arenas consisted secured ~ 62 cm2 plastic Petri dishes. Ten male female adults either species were exposed treated untreated for time intervals ranging from 0.67 168 h. Males females then cross-mated: One paired one female; unexposed female. Pairs held 7-dram vial 7 days, removed, vials emergence F 1 adults. There no progeny when mating pairs ≥ 48 h, while 168 h exposure necessary prevent production mated pairs. more susceptible compared confusum. This study showed beetles recovering knockdown produce progeny, but long-term material inhibited generation. Integrating into an existing integrated pest management program could provide additional protection products.
