摘要: BACKGROUND Neurologic complications of ovarian carcinoma are uncommon and to the authors' knowledge full spectrum has not been delineated previously. METHODS The authors reviewed findings 121 neurologic consultations on 83 patients between 1993 1996; this represents 4% all seen at study institution in time period. RESULTS The most common reasons for consultation were altered mental status, pain, weakness, numbness, headache, seizure. Twenty-seven diagnosed metastatic disease, 14 cerebrovascular 4 paraneoplastic syndromes; however, iatrogenic (n = 38) comprised majority diagnoses. Greater than 50% improved neurologically after diagnosis treatment. CONCLUSIONS Neurologic disease accompanying may be more diverse recognized previously. Definitive treatment benefits patients.
