摘要: Summary The service-learning approach in education, which integrates community service with academic classroom learning, is gaining national prominence. goals of this project were to incorporate intergenerational into an undergraduate introductory gerontology course and involve students elders meaningful in-teractions a rural setting. Thirteen the 50 class could be accommodated at nursing home semi-independent living sites paired for friendly visiting oral history. Attitude scales (Pillemer & Albright, 1996) indicated that showed more positive change post-test overall attitudes toward elderly than did non students. Open-ended questions valued experience, felt it enhanced gained knowledge about communities. Follow-up interviews uniformly positive.
