摘要: The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects author co-citation analysis (ACA): way counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings based, we compare ACA results based two different types counting: hand, traditional type that only first among a cited work's authors, other simplified approach to all-author takes into account five authors work. Results indicate picture produced through this contains groups more coherent, is therefore considerably clearer. However, represents fewer specialties in research field being studied than first-author when same number top-ranked selected analyzed. Reasons for these effects discussed. Variations compared.
