摘要: Presented here are the results of an experimental study infrared photofragmentation patterns of size-selected Krn+SF6 cluster ions for n in range 2⩽n⩽50. The ν3 (T1u) vibrational mode SF6 molecule each ion has been excited using a line-tunable CO2 laser, and subsequent fragmentation were monitored loss one two krypton atoms also chromophore. For containing more than four atoms, dominant fragmentation process observed was single atom, with SF6 being least intense channels most clusters. ion, Kr3+SF6, significantly different behaviour route, which suggests stable Kr3+ trimer. Fragmentation intensities as function laser wavelength order to determine absorption profiles individual ions. observation site-symmetry splittings triply degenerate relatively narrow linewidths suggest presence asymmetric, but ordered, structures. With only maximum three absorption features apparent clusters consisting less than thirty five number structural isomers appears be small. Comparisons made previously obtained Arn+SF6 series (J. Chem. Phys., 1995, 103, 5177), differences spectra attributed sensitivity molecule its environment. Additional interpretation comes from comparisons computer simulation studies on neutral compositions ArnSF6 KrnSF6 1991, 95, 6271). appearance minor channel region K12+SF6 is interpreted terms stacked
