摘要: Results are presented of a detailed experimental study the infrared photofragmentation patterns size‐selected SF6⋅Ar+n cluster ions for n in range 3 to 70. Line‐tuneable CO2 and N2O lasers have been used excited ν3 vibrational mode SF6 molecule which is followed by loss one two argon atoms as principal fragmentation routes. Which processes dominant depends quite strongly on size ion concerned, with very pronounced fluctuations relative intensities photofragments being observed SF6⋅Ar+3 SF6⋅Ar+25. Only pattern markedly different from that found other ions; an observation supports earlier conclusion regarding ionisation energies constituents [Stace et al. J. Phys. Chem. 97, 11363 (1993)].
