摘要: To determine whether the early replication of Mu prophage DNA proceeds beyond termini into hose DNA, amounts both and prophage-adjacent host sequences were measured using a DNA-DNA annealing assay after induction vegetative cycle. Whereas Mu-specific synthesis began 6 to 8 min induction, no amplification adjacent was observed. These data suggest that Mu-induced is constrained within boundaries prophage. Since does not undergo lambda-like excision from its original site (E. Ljungquist A. I. Bukhari, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci.
