摘要: Although evidence suggests that community-dwelling older adults at risk for health problems benefit from structured programs of exercise, there is a need more understanding regarding ways can be translated to clinical and incorporated into systems care all racial ethnic groups. Simonsick notes in an editorial “ … we should seriously consider new strategies reaching out the frailest sickest segment population” (Ferrucci & Simonsick, 2006, p. 1154) “the good news about benefits exercise must transcend scientific community disseminated policymakers planners” (p. 1155). Moreover, frail functionally impaired minority groups have not been fully studied due difficulties recruitment retention participants concerns monitoring status during moderate activity (Arean, Alvidrez, Nery, Estes, Linkins, 2003; Robinson Trochim, 2007). Studies are designed who independently live communities may sufficient, however, understand African American women with impairment instrumental activities daily living or chronic illness 2006; Smedley, Stith, Nelson, 2003). Exercise has demonstrated improve physical function (Brach, Kritchevesky, Yaffe, Newman, 2004) among those functional limitations (Topp, Boardley, Morgan, Fahlman, McNevin, 2005); yet, implementation different origins urban environments also eligible nursing home level sufficiently addressed (Levkoff Sanchez, Stewart et al., 2001; Tan, Lui, Eng, Jha, Covinsky, 2003). Attention drawn last decade include aging studies so field grow further (Brown Alexander, 2004; Paskett 2008). A clear commitment by researchers achieve enrollment targets, combined modifications meet these led better success rates (Williams Corbie-Smith, 2006). Approaches shown minorities fall several categories: (a) eliminating research administrative barriers, (b) development community-based participation aspects process, (c) communication strategies, (d) target minorities, (e) resources implement aimed (Durant 2007; 2008; 2007). Current recommendations use frameworks detailed participatory address barriers nature such as funding resources, overcoming Institutional Review Board (IRB) difficulties, addressing operational complexities between sites staff access ability conduct interventions, reducing site participant burden, increasing engagement incentives (Paskett 2007). The purpose this study was examine employment specific evaluating outcomes program impairments attending Program All-Inclusive Care Elders (PACE). Our focused on principles partnership participants, clinicians, issues, burden clinicians (Arean Levkoff Based four principles, developed foster retain study.
