摘要: BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Physical activity has been associated with better health status in diverse populations, but the association patients on maintenance hemodialysis is less established. Patient-reported physical activities and associations mortality, health-related quality of life, depression symptoms 12 countries were examined. DESIGN, SETTING, PARTICIPANTS, & MEASUREMENTS In total, 5763 enrolled phase 4 Dialysis Outcomes Practice Patterns Study (2009-2011) classified into five aerobic categories (never/rarely active to very active) by muscle strength/flexibility using Rapid Assessment Physical Activity questionnaire. The Kidney Disease Quality Life scale was used for life. Center Epidemiologic Studies Depression symptoms. Linear regression life scores. Cox mortality. RESULTS The median (interquartile range) follow-up 1.6 (0.9-2.5) years; 29% as never/rarely active, 20% 20.5% reported activities. Percentages greater clinics offering exercise programs. Aerobic activity, not positively inversely mortality (adjusted hazard ratio death versus 0.60; 95% confidence interval, 0.47 0.77). Similar observed strata age, sex, time dialysis, diabetes status. CONCLUSIONS The findings are consistent benefits hemodialysis. Greater facilities providing programs, suggesting a possible opportunity improving patient outcomes.
