Available medical literature in Polish does not contain information about type pleurodesis. MATERIAL AND METHODS: During 2005–2011 Pulmonology Respiratory Rehabilitation Department we hospitalized diagnosed 162 fluid. Pleurodesis was 24 (14.8%) persistent In article retrospective analysis safety, efficacy treatment patients’ survival time. We also provide detailed pleurodesis: clinical theory, indications, contraindications, patient’s preparation, description modifications use X-ray transthoracic ultrasound. RESULTS: effective 20 cases, partially 3 cases ineffective one case. In-hospital mortality 4.2% (one case). frequently observed mild fever pain. Median hospitalization 9 days. time 32 days, whereas group still living it 96 CONCLUSIONS: Talc adequate patient preselection relatively safe procedure. can be non-surgical pulmonology unit.
