摘要: Composite structures are increasingly used in the transport industry especially aeronautical sector thanks to their favorable strength-to-weight ratio with respect metals. However, this is true if final part defects free and complies quality requirements. A main weakness composites porosity, which likely be introduced during manufacturing processes may knock down material characteristics affecting its performance service. Porosity plays a key role sandwich structures, involve novel metal foams as core, since foam strongly depends on size distribution of pores. The determination porosity mostly attained by destructive methods, supply only general indication linked production number. Conversely, entail local significant variation discovered effective nondestructive techniques. attention present work focused possibility use infrared thermography get information about amount porosity. In particular, two techniques: flash lock-in comply requirements both monolithic foams.
