摘要: Moisture may cause many detrimental effects to polymers and their composites, thus inhibiting the applications of polymeric materials in hot humid environments. In this article, a convection–diffusion porous media model is derived better characterize rapid moisture transport polymer composites at high temperatures. The considers both continuum diffusion solid high-pressure convection taking place pore network. Coupling achieved by combining law conservation mass, Darcy's law, liquid–vapor chemical equilibrium, ideal gas law. presented validated conducting experimental tests on an epoxy compound. It found that proposed more effective than diffusion-only convection-only models for interpreting desorption A numerical study also performed predict maximum vapor pressure during heating process. Vapor be as 6.5 MPa rate 10 K/s. concluded able capture dynamics mechanism materials, can potentially used further investigate polymer-moisture interactions. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym.
