An examination of the smoking identities and taxonomies of smoking behaviour of youth

摘要: Objective: To address observations that youths9 smoking identities are valid descriptors of their behaviour we examined the relationships between self-reported identities, perceived levels addiction, and established taxonomies behaviour. Method: Cross-sectional data were collected on demographics, extent addiction to tobacco, history, identity from questionnaires administered 8,225 students in British Columbia, Canada. 7, 246 participants categorized according four literature. Differences physical mental groups calculated. The strength associations was also assessed. Results: There significant differences (Kruskal Wallis χ 2 = 3985.02, p 4046.09, < .001) tobacco by participants9 identity. Youths9 modestly associated with (Pearson9s C: .64 - .72). Conclusion: Self-reported appear provide characterizations complement elaborate existing behaviour. Questions about should be used conjunction when investigating youth smoking.
