摘要: BACKGROUND It remains to be elucidated whether exposure air pollutants aggravates atopic dermatitis (AD). OBJECTIVES This study aimed evaluate the effects of formaldehyde for 1 h and 2 on skin barrier function in both control AD groups. METHODS In 41 patients with 34 healthy children, a provocation test was performed which two different areas normal-appearing forearm were stimulated airborne at 500 μg m(-3) or placebo h. We measured transepidermal water loss (TEWL) pH, calculated percentage change from baseline. RESULTS Exposure increased TEWL group [P < 0·001; median difference 1·4; interquartile range (IQR) 0·9-1·6] (P 2·5; IQR 2·0-3·6). The after higher than 0·001), whereas showed no differences between also demonstrated increase pH 0·001). CONCLUSIONS Short-term causes dysfunction children AD, this effect is more prominent AD.
