摘要: The European bisons are the largest mammals of Europe that still in danger extinction. species conservation is associated with their continuous reproduction, and characterized by well-pronounced seasonality reproductive processes. However, exact mechanisms regulating reproduction remain unknown. Our previous studies indicated involvement some growth factors regulation male seasonal activities bison, showing expression patterns seemed to be regulated length daylight. In present study, using RT-PCR Western blot approaches, we verified possible relationship between insulin-like factor (IGF-1), its receptor (IGF-1R), klotho testis epididymis bison pre- post-reproductive periods, i.e., June December. observed IGF-1 IGF-1R mRNA was higher than At same time, both did not differ analyzed seasons. along levels protein June, for membrane form secrete were December June. Finally, messenger profiles presented herein indicate importance IGF-system processes implying testicular activity males this threatened species.
