摘要: Abstract Electrochemical activity tests have been performed on a fuel cell fed with H 2 O at room temperature utilizing phosphotungstic acid (PWA) as solid electrolyte. Two different procedures were followed to prepare the electrolyte layers. One consisted of mixing precursor silicon polymer crystalline powder PWA in an agate mortar and spreading paste glass surface or electrode; polymerization occurred layer already formed. A composite elastic material which held entrapped pores was obtained. The other procedure impregnating inert porous concentrate solution PWA, for longer time, obtain flat after successive drying. stiff undeformable reinforced by matrix obtained this method. Poor electrochemical performances principally due high protonic internal resistance. Moreover, polymeric skeleton unstable under working conditions cell. Maximum power density 0.075 W/cm2 0.2 A/cm2 formed 70 wt% 30 silicone polymer. Better performance containing microfibers prepared second This can be summarized current 0.45 2.0 potential 0.6 0.33 V, respectively, 0.738 1.8 Tafel slope 0.058 V/decade.
