摘要: Aim: This study was designed to analyze the incidence and spectrum of adverse effects blood transfusion so as initiate measures minimize risks improve overall safety in institute. Materials Methods: During period from July 2002 2003 all events related components various clinical specialties were recorded. They analyzed classified on basis their features laboratory tests. Attempt also made predisposing risk factors. Results: 56,503 issued 29,720 patients. A total 105 reactions due observed during period. majority hemato-oncology patients 43% (n = 45) presensitized patient groups 63% 66). FNHTR 41% 43) allergic 34% 36) most common types reactions, followed by AcHTR 8.56% 9). Majority these unmonitored storage refrigerator wards resulting hemolysis thermal injury. Less frequently anaphylactoid 4), bacterial sepsis hypervolemia 2), hypocalcemia TRALI 1), DHTR TAGvHD 1). Conclusion: Analysis transfusion-related outcomes is essential for improving safety. Factors such improvement conditions outside bank, cross-matching techniques, careful donor screening, adherence good manufacturing practices while component preparation, bedside monitoring transfusion, documentation will help reducing morbidity mortality.
