Deconstructing stem cell self-renewal: genetic insights into cell-cycle regulation

摘要: The regulation of stem cell self-renewal must balance the regenerative needs tissues that persist throughout life with potential for overgrowth, transformation and cancer. Here, we attempt to deconstruct relationship exists between cell-cycle progression versus commitment cell-fate decision in embryonic adult cells. Recent genetic studies mice have provided insights into cycle cells, including its modulation by niche. Although dynamics cycles are profoundly dissimilar, suggest shared principles underlie governance this important point diverse types.
