摘要: The appropriate interval of post-treatment follow-up appointments for uterine cervical cancer is unclear. aim this study was to investigate the impact reducing frequency examinations on life expectancy and medical expenses in patients. Cervical patients who were treated with radiotherapy between 2008 2017, underwent a less frequent program, subsequently developed recurrent disease included consecutive group (CG). Non-randomized groups program after 1997 2007, also identified through chart review served as comparison (primary [PG]). Clinical data regarding primary disease, follow-up, recurrence, survival collected. Univariate multivariate analyses predictors performed. A total 263 (PG: 154, CG: 109) current study. reduction up 40% did not increase symptomatic recurrence vs. 31.2% 35.8%, p = 0.43) or reduce median overall periods (PG 32 months 36 months, p = 0.15). However, significantly reduced costs. Reducing by result shorter compared conventional program. results provide rationale future studies investigating optimal schedule cancer.
