摘要: Background: simulation-based teaching is increasingly used in medical education, but no studies have evaluated its impact on learning geriatric medicine. We developed and delivered a simulation session delirium, falls, elder abuse breaking bad news. Simulation mannequins, professional role-players simulated clinical documentation were all incorporated into scenarios. the effect of this intervention student students’ attitudes towards Methods: third year Newcastle University MBBS students at Northumbria base unit received session. Students’ knowledge was assessed using three question test mapped to outcomes for abuse, delirium falls stations. Each undertook occasions: day before session, immediately after 1 month later, allowing evaluation over time. Test scores also compared with those achieved by another cohort different unit, who traditional ward-based didactic teaching. Results: improved significantly maintained when reassessed later. Students training outperformed usual Student feedback overwhelmingly positive vast majority agreed that had their perceptions Discussion: our findings demonstrate efficacy undergraduate medicine, acceptability influence specialty.
