摘要: The relationship between plasma angiotensin and the reduction of blood pressure with converting enzyme inhibitor enalapril was studied in rats. Blood measured conscious rats indwelling arterial catheters. To measure II, analyzed by physical separation angiotensins using high performance liquid chromatography followed radioimmunoassay. effects both single (acute) long-term (chronic) dosages were measured. After a oral dose (10 mg/kg), mean fell from 111 +/- 3 to 86 mm Hg (p less than 0.005). Despite reduction, II unaffected (control, 9.9 1.8 vs 9.7 1.1 pg/ml). higher (30 there (81 5 Hg, p 0.005) concentration (2.3 0.6 pg/ml, 0.01). chronic inhibition evaluated given their drinking water mg/kg 24 hr) for 1 week or 2 months. Mean remained equally low after administration (for months), but increased above normal (after week, 28.9 8.7, 0.01 control; months, 43.1 16.2 0.05 control). Although activity undetectable at any time administration, partial return I pressor response administration. data are most compatible actions inhibitors independent blockade formation.
